Le Pichet comes to the Food Network? Just for a few minutes.

What:  Le Pichet to be featured in the “French Favorites” episode of The Food Network Show “The Best Thing I Ever Ate”
When:  Monday July 25, 2001 at 10pm PST
Where:  The Food Network
Visit the Food Network web site for further details

As I revealed in an earlier post, the Food Network was at Le Pichet in March 2011 to film a segment about our Raclette Savoyarde.  It seems that Alton Brown was at Le Pichet to dine in late 2010 and really enjoyed the raclette, and well,  here we are on tv.  Anyway, I just received word from the Food Channel that the episode, which is called “French Favorites” will air for the first time on Monday July 25, 2011 at 10pm PST.  Reruns will  no doubt follow.

As I said, the Food Network was at Le Pichet in March of 2011 and filmed for about 6 hours over the course of 2 days.  Several members of the Le Pichet staff (thanks Ford!) were featured in the filming, including myself (although my hair, which was on a 6 month hiatus due to chemotherapy, was conspicuously absent).  Given the amount of time I spent with the film crew, I fear that I am destined to be  underwhelmed by the result, as I am told that the Le Pichet feature will only be 2 to 7 minutes long.  I will be happy if I just don’t look too silly.

  1. I just saw the episode and didn’t think you looked silly at all. In fact the spot on the show made me want to come in and have lunch or dinner. Do you still have that dish on the menu? It looks amazing!

    1. Raclette Savoyarde in on the menu at both Le Pichet and Cafe Presse during the winter months, typically from say November to the beginning of April. Alton Brown was at Le Pichet in December 2010 and the show was filmed in March 2011. Glad you enjoyed the show.

  3. Just saw the segment. So sad that I live in Louisiana…I would love to eat at your restaurant! I lived in Bayonne, France for 2 years and we had friends in Biarritz who occasionally served raclette and potatoes when we dined with them. They had a round warmer that sat on the table and we each had an indiviual sized, mini skillet that we used to melt the cheese. It was so good. Thanks for the fond memories. You did a great job! I need to find some good raclette now!!

  4. Thought your spot on the show was best of all. Looking forward to trying that dish but will definitely be in sooner than November. Keep up the good work.
